CASEY AT 13

Casey turned 13 last February 2025. She's now in Grade 7 and will be in Grade 8 this coming July 2025.

She might not be an outstanding student but she has good grades. She is training to be a volleyball player

What are the characteristics of a 13 year old in this digital age and age of social media.

Thirteen-year-olds are characterized by significant physical changes starting from puberty, such as heightened emotionality, mood swings, and increased focus on peers.

These things eventually lead to a push for independence from family while struggling with insecurity, self-identity, and intense self-consciousness about their changing bodies, often testing boundaries and rules as they develop abstract thinking and personal values.

Going back in time in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 🇻🇳

Walking through the photo display and exhibit of the War Remnants Museum was deeply moving and unforgettable. I wasn't born yet when the Vietnam War began in November 1955 but growing up I would have poignant memories about the horrors of this long-drawn-out war which lasted for 20 harrowing years. It can begin with a major life change like losing a spouse, retiring from a longtime job, or children leaving the family home. At first...

Valuable Information Pregnant Moms Should Know About Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes is a condition which occurs among pregnant women who experience high blood sugar level in their pregnancy even if they never had previous diabetes history. This disorder is dangerous to both mother and baby as the baby could develop congenital defects and chemical imbalance after birth which would make it necessary for the baby to be placed in a neonatal intensive care unit. Gestational diabetes mellitus happens when the body's insulin is low as the insulin receptors cannot function well because of the presence of human placental lactogen that interferes with the susceptible receptors. Gestational diabetes hardly shows any symptoms making the expectant mom unaware that her condition needs urgent and immediate treatment. When this happens, she could experience pre-eclampsia during pregnancy and more likely give birth by Ceasarian section. She is likely to develop Type 2 diabetes after giving birth. The child, on the other hand, cou...
